Love (Beatles album)

Love is a soundtrack remix album of music recorded by the Beatles, released in November 2006. It features music compiled and remixed as a mashup for the Cirque du Soleil show of the same name. The album was produced by George Martin and his son Giles Martin, who said, "What people will be hearing on the album is a new experience, a way of re-living the whole Beatles musical lifespan in a very condensed period.

Giles Martin said in an interview that he was afraid they would not get the green light to do the project, so he started by making digital back-ups of the original multi-track recordings just to get started on the project. He also said that he and his father mixed more music than was eventually released, including "She's Leaving Home" and a version of "Girl" that he was particularly fond of which was eventually released in 2011 as a bonus track on the album on iTunes.

McCartney and Starr, the surviving members of the Beatles, responded very positively to the album. McCartney noted that "This album puts The Beatles back together again, because suddenly there's John and George with me and Ringo". Starr commended George and Giles Martin for the album and said that the album is "really powerful for me and I even heard things I'd forgotten we'd recorded.”

Deltamusic  chose to play the entire album uninterrupted to allow younger Beatle fans to experience an album premiere.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of one of the most historic moments in music and television, The Recording Academy, AEG Ehrlich Ventures and CBS will present "The Night That Changed America: A GRAMMY Salute To The Beatles." The primetime entertainment special will celebrate the remarkable legacy of the seven-time GRAMMY-winning group and their groundbreaking first appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show."

The two-hour show  will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, from 8–10 p.m. ET/PT — exactly 50 years to the day, date and time of the original event.

The Beatles' Story is the sixth album by the Beatles in the United States, issued on November 23, 1964 by Capitol Records in both mono and stereo formats (although the mono was merely a fold-down of the stereo mix). It is a documentary double album featuring interviews, press conferences, and song snippets with voice-overs, and was issued in response to interviews of the Beatles collected on the Vee-Jay Records

It Was Fifty Years Ago Today - The Day Beatlemania Went Stateside

"They say the world doesn't change in a day.”

“But one day, it did."

Today marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' US debut. On this date in 1964, The Beatles flew together across the Atlantic for the first time, in hopes of cracking the USA - something no British band had yet managed to do. By the time the third and last of their first Beatles Ed Sullivan broadcasts aired - a little more than two weeks after their arrival - the band would be back home, having made broadcasting history and their trip as a whole a phenomenal and unprecedented success. 

To commemorate The Beatles' seminal first US visit, from now until 23rd February The Beatles Homepage  will be posting on Facebook each day about the significant events that led to Beatlemania spreading across the States. Check-in daily for photos and video from the tour, and the story of how The Beatles managed to accomplish what then had seemed impossible to do - making it in the USA. Today, we've posted some original news footage covering their arrival, and yesterday we posted the backstory behind their visit.
